Free Design Apps Like Photoshop

(Because Not Everyone Has Money Like That)

Being a Graphic Designer is hard enough without having to pay hundreds of dollars to use the industry standard. If you're in college, there is a student discount that lets you use all of Adobe's programs starting at 20$ a month. However, if you need that twenty, we're gonna go over some of the free options that'll let you be as creative as you please.

Fire Alpaca (MacOS, Windows)

Simple and Easy is the perfect slogan for an app like Fire Alpaca. It's also highly recommended if you're more partial to illustrating rather than whole graphic design. You get the use of common tools such as selection and movement, and it's super user friendly. For those more talented than I, you can even use Fire Alpaca for simple animations with the onion skin mode for your layers. And, of course, it's 100% free.

Canva (MacOS, Windows, IOS, Android)

Personally, this is one of my favorite design apps to use. Canva offers hundreds of design templates and layouts for you to use for just about anything. From business presentations to logos, Canva can do it all. It also comes with a wide library of elements for you to use in your designs. You also don't have to use your own storage, since Canva stores all your designs on its cloud attached to your account. Canva is free to use, but if you want access to some premium features, you'll have to pay about 13$. From personal experience, the free version will definitely have you covered for most projects.

Photoleap (IOS)

Having an option for just iPhones seems lame I know, but hear me out. Photoleap is a mobile design app filled with tons of great features. It's primarily used for photo editing, but if that's your jam then you're in luck! With features such as adjustment sliders, blur tools, and even blending options, your selfies will look better than ever. Photoleap is free to use, but also has access to more premium features with its pro plan.

Conlusion (Everyone)

I hope you found your next Photoshop substitute! Now that you've saved all this money on design apps, you can go out and get that large coffee drink that you wanted or that oversized mp3 player. And remember, piracy is not okay. So if you're wondering why that wasn't an option I provided, cope. Thank you for reading, and as always, I hope you found this Oddly Entertaining.
